If not, you might be asking yourself, "How can I be saved?"

First you must realize you are a sinner in need of a savior. Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever taken something that did not belong to you? We all have sinned and it’s our sin that separates us from the holiness of God. We could never be perfect enough to go heaven, into God’s kingdom, on our own merit. The bible says:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

You also need to know that price for our sin is death. With our sin we have broken the law of God and the penalty is death. Death isn’t just going to the grave, it means eternal separation from God. But there is good news. God sent his son Jesus to come to earth and live as a man. Jesus willingly allowed himself to be put on a cross and be put to death. God substituted his own son and allowed Him to die in our place. The bible says:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Here's more good news. Jesus did not stay in the grave. He was raised from the dead and went to heaven to be with His father. He was raised from the dead and is waiting for you. We no longer need to die, because Jesus has already paid our death penalty by dying for us on the cross. We just need to accept this gift from him. To accept the gift, we just simply call out to Him and ask. The bible says:

“That If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved: for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10

“For whoever will call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

Do you believe that God sent his son Jesus to pay the price for your sin and die in your place? Do you believe that Jesus rose from the dead and is now alive in Heaven? Then call out to God and accept His gift of salvation. In your own words, pray and ask God to forgive you of your sins and give your life to him. Your prayer could be something like:

“Dear God, please forgive me of my sins. Thank you for sending your son Jesus to earth to live as a man and to die on the cross to pay the price for my sins. I give my life to you. Thank you for saving me and taking me to heaven when I die. Amen.”

Remember, it is not the specific words that save you. It is a matter of what you believe in your heart and depends upon you placing your trust in Jesus. God loves you and is waiting for you to accept Him.
