OUR HISTORY

Yelm Prairie Baptist Church beginningsPrairie Baptist Fellowship was started in February of 2000 by a handful of families who believed there was a real need for a Christ-centered, family-friendly church that would emphasize the truths of God's Word and reach out to the Yelm area with Christs' love. Pastor Dan Lofgren was called to help establish this work, and for two years this fledgling body of believers met at Prairie Elementary School.

In September 2001, Pastor Phil Perry accepted the call to pastor the church and it has continued to grow under his leadership.

In 2002, we purchased a ten acre piece of land with a modest house. After many hours of work on the property and the house, we held our first service in our own building. What a blessing! After four years of significant growth it was time to move on to a larger building. God gave us an opportunity to sell our property and move to the other side of Yelm.

In 2006, we began meeting in our current location at 1725 SR 507, just east of Wal-Mart. We have purchased a 4+ acre property on the North end of Yelm at Burnett Road and the new 510 Bypass and look forward to once again having our own church home.

We have seen growth, both spiritually and in attendance in the past years. From launching our small group program- called LINK groups, to reaching out into our community with our summer VBS program and participating in Yelm's annual Christmas in the Park in the winter. We are working together to grow a church that honors Christ and impacts our community. As we look forward to erecting a church building, we also are excited to see what the Lord has in store for our church.
